Jinnah Park is a park in the centre of the town of Rawalpindi in Punjab Province, Pakistan positioned on Jail Road, subsequent to the Rawalpindi District Courts.

Former Jail & Bhutto Execution Site

The park was once the former web site of the District Jail Rawalpindi for close to a century. Most rather it is where former President and Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto used to be hanged to loss of life on 4 April 1979, around the corner from his official house and workplace (then recognized as President's House, currently Army House

The jail was once replaced by way of a new facility in the village of Adiala 13 km away, and the old reformatory was once demolished in 1988 with the grounds transformed into Jinnah Park. It was once believed that the army dictatorship of Gen. Zia-ul-Haq which had overthrown Bhutto used to be keen to erase any potential website of pilgrimage and therefore opposition.[3] There is presently only a small and now not very nicely recognized monument to mark the spot where the gallows from which Bhutto used to be hanged once stood.

Current Facilities

It currently houses a McDonald's franchisee and Cinepax[4] exhibition centre. It also has a committed play area, lawns, fountains, flower beds and a walking track stretched throughout the boundary wall. The park consists of many correct restaurants such as McDonald's papa salis and Diva restaurant. There are few cricket pitches and big COSMO cash and carry shop
